Study materials used were Cisco Press textbook, GNS3, Packet Tracer, and bought the Boson Exsim/Netsim in the last couple weeks to get a fresh set of practice exam questions as well as lab scenarios. Studied for about 4-5 months. Seems like a little long, but I work a fulltime job as a desktop tech, so this was evenings and weekends, as well as I took a 2 week vacation from work, and 2 weeks of banked time off. About 10 questions in I thought I was screwed, there were questions on there that I hadn't found in any study material, although I don't know if those were unmarked questions, etc. I was told there would be cats? EDIT: Oh, I also used CBTNuggets.

There's a finite number of questions that can be asked about subnetting, and it's literally something that can be learned in three to four hours of practice, and certainly over a weekend.
There's just a ton of ICND2 rules and technologies to know. And of course, all sorts of ways to ask tricky questions that test your knowledge of the concepts. Seems like ICDN2 is objectively harder, beyond it being a matter of opinion, you know, in my opinion.
I found the boson exam questions to be harder than the ICND1. When you think about it, they would have to be. If everyone took them and then failed the real cisco exam they would have to refund the money. Just keep plugging away at them.
